The Jeep Wagoneer was Jeep's modern replacement to the previous Jeep Station Wagon. It was larger than Jeep Wagon, and spacious enough to carry 6 passengers. Wagoneers offered two body styles: a conventional two-door utility wagon and a new four-door wagon that greatly expanded its appeal to families. Wagoneer was also the first 4WD vehicle that offered an automatic transmission. When Jeep Wagoneer was launched, the consumers' reaction was unprecedented. The public flocked to Jeep dealers to see the Wagoneer, and the manufacturer was unable to keep up with the tremendous demand.
